for California State Assembly 54th District
I'm excited to start this journey with you and everyone in the CA-54. We have a lot of work to do and we are only getting started. What I love most about CA-54 is that we have people from every walk of life going out into the world and living their California Dream. I certainly am very lucky to get up every morning and live mine. It wasn't always like that and I believe that the struggles we go through make us better people and more appreciative of others as we can walk in their shoes.
I grew up in a small town in Missouri and was privileged enough to be selected as a Congressional Page to serve in the United States House of Representatives my junior year of high school. There I learned first-hand the special responsibility that public servants have to the public and that the trust we place in our government is a bond that is sacred. After high school I attended and graduated from Manhattanville College in New York where I received a Bachelor's in Political Science. I then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Diplomacy and Terrorism Studies at Norwich University in Vermont.
I've spent most of my career as a teacher, financial planner, and real estate professional. I grew up in a household that valued hard work, determination, and dreams. These are the values I hold dear, as do many across CA-54. And those are just a few of the many American values that bind us together in our community and district.
I'm excited to learn more about each and every constituent in CA-54 and how we can solve problems together and get results. I think, for me at least, that begins with listening and being open to learning about the issues that matter most to you. I can't promise I have all the answers, but I can promise that I will do my best to find solutions to the problems you and I face in our community.
This is my second campaign for elected office. I'm not a wealthy individual or a person with political connections, but I am a citizen who believes in the power of the people and elected government to get things done. I will work from the heart to make CA-54 a better place. I can't promise any more or any less. Vote for me on the March 3, 2020 primary.
